Love Poem: Young Love

Young Love

In a park where I dwell.
I met a boy I loved so well.
He came and took his heart from me.
Now that boy has set me free.

He sat a strange girl on his knee.
Told her things he never told me.
I ran right home and jumped into bed.
Not a word to my mom had I said.

My dad came home late that night.
He looked for me from left to right.
Through the door in which he broke.
He saw me hanging from a rope.

He got a knife and cut me down.
On the dresser was this note he found.

Dig my grave and dig it deep.
Marble stone from head to feet.
On that stone please place a dove.
So the world will know that I died for love.
                                                                     Teresa Skyles
