You Were the Best

I WOULD BE LYING IF I SAID I WAS HAPPY,

THAT BEING ALONE WITHOUT YOU ISN'T CRAPPY.

I WOULD BE LYING IF I SAID I DIDN'T LOVE YOU,

THAT I DIDN'T HURT AFTER EVERYTHING WE WENT THROUGH.

I WOULD BE A LIER IF I SAID IF FELT NOTHING,

BUT YOU WOULD SEE RIGHT THROUGH MY BLUFFING.

I'M NOT ONE TO BE LYING WHEN THE TRUTH IS APPARENT,

WHEN MY PAIN IS SO MUCH THAT IT IS TRANSPARENT.

THE TRUTH IS THAT SINCE YOU LEFT I DON'T SLEEP,

THAT EVERY MOMENT I BEGIN TO THINK OF YOU I WEEP.

THE TRUTH IS THAT I CAN'T GIVE YOU UP SO EASILY,

NOT AFTER LOVING YOU FOR SO LONG SO INTENSELY.

THE TRUTH IS THAT I FEEL THE PAIN OVERFLOW IN MY CHEST,

THAT OF ALL OF THE THINGS IN MY LIFE YOU WERE THE BEST.
