You Think You Know Me

You think you know me?
Things I need, want.
What makes me tick-tock?
They say people never change,
Well, I'm the exception to the rule.

"I love you" are the words you used
Sittin' in that truck on your daddy's farm.
Of course I told you back.
Senior year in high school,
We thought we knew it all!

We lit the candles and said our vows
In the upstairs of that old video store.
Nothing' fancy did we need, just each other.
As we drove off in your pick-up truck,
I was so high I thought i touched the sky.

Problems came, and problems went,
Love prevailed, or something like it.
Children came, best days of our lives.
Perfect family? Perfect love?
Who were we kidding.
