Love Poem: You Said It

You Said It

You said it
You said it there and then
You didn’t write it, you didn’t need a pen

No thought was needed
The words were on your mind
What was I thinking?
I thought we were two of a kind

You stand there in front of me
Claiming that you love him
It’s just not how it should be

You said it; now that you’re gone
You’re with him on that side while I’m here lingering on

So you found him on the other side of life. All those years together, you were always a worshipped wife

You said it and that’s enough for me
But here I am alone and as I close my eyes for the last time, alone I’ll always be.
