Love Poem: You Cut - You Choose

You Cut - You Choose

You Cut – You Choose

“you cut – you choose”
Solomon-like solution
last cookie dilemma.
Not so easy with a duplicitous heart.
Clutching both halves in vain attempt
at holding each denied love’s fullness.
Fickle fallacy of need’s
wants demanding more of less,
fresh fire from once scorched timber
purity from the darkness of deceit.
Deceptions thrill - sad mockery
of racing heart – trembling hand.
Half hearted lust – cold fires sigh -
amid the loneliness of lies
free falling fantasy. Forever -
trailing stars – disappearing,
dimming in the chasm of despair’s
distrust – heartache halved –
chambered confusion
beating on the doors of death.
“you choose”
“you cut”
