You lift me up when I’m feeling
Down; when I’m sad you turn my frown
Right side up, and I begin to smile.
I have often even been mad at you
For the things I don’t understand,
But you love me still, because you know
How it feels to be disappointed, and
How life can bring you down,
But you are faithful and you are
Always around.
You broke my shackles, and made
Me free; bound by the troubles of
This world, and the struggles it
Brings; you give me a reason to sing;
A reason to keep on living in this
World from day to day; with a hope
In greater things to come;
Knowing tomorrow will be a better
Day, and today the sun will shine my way.
