you don your best smile,
and hide your feelings behind a smiley face
yet every so often, life
feels more like an illusion
comprised of wishes fueled by fantasy
sanctioned by a lonely heart
you're torn between love and lust
and start to believe you're flawed
the impossible will always be impossible,
though, in the internet world
reality hides behind a fake facade
that's cracked and broken
and easily washed away by trickling tears
put aside your mask
and show a skeptical world you have feelings
you're not a doll, a robot
or a toy
and if you feel like crying
do not be ashamed
for you are human
it's in your nature to cry
that's what separates us from the animals
