Love Poem: You

You

The awkward eye contact as our paths cross in the classroom
The nagging feeling i missed out on something good
The vacant look in your eye that says I'm nothing more
Then a stranger that goes to the same school
Your resonating laugh as i cringe at your happiness
Thinking you don't care and knowing what you're really going through
Wondering what you see when you look at me
Do you see an old friend or a stranger?
Keeping my distance form you just to keep a smile
Waiting for the opportunity to talk
Hiding what I feel from every one trying to figure it out on my own
Quick eye contact and I flash a smile no response
To my efforts, it’s as if you've forgotten
Erased from my memory but hiding in the back of your mind
Silently creeping to the forefront of your thought ready to drive you crazy
To make you hurt the way i do
Feel the pain i have and allow you a look into my mind
A connection that is forever tied together with a thought
Words in a heated argument that separates us forever
Now i wait for the time to come when you are you again
Not this fake persona of a happy person
