Yielded and Still

Yielded and Still [Prayer] May I remain surrendered Yielded and still My heart aches for love That seems not to be your will For anything that will lead me Away from your master plan Means that I deny you Refuse to take your hand. I believe you have your reasons For saying, “be yielded and still” So I’m complying with your words Even though it’s not my will. Without a true conversion The other heart does not understand I can only shed tears of loss And trust my future in your hands. To remain surrendered to you Takes love that does confound Not an unconverted heart With desires otherwise bound Help me to remain surrendered For it is a daily thing Take away my desires My selfish will to sing. I need your help to yield And remain still in your sway My heart says, “Go back to your love For that’s the only way” This struggle I surrender to you For I know I have no power But to lean on you, Lord Yielded and still every minute of each hour.
