Love Poem: Yesterday Is a Guest

Yesterday Is a Guest

When youth was a King, there was only you
I reached out in darkness and found you there
Eternity and fleeting are both true
Bound by perception, in the cage they share
Victim of judgment, by two who consent
Finding rhyme nor reason for failures cause
Opened time's door with fragile lament
Found only fragments where yesterday paused
Could I count the suns, with their passing dawn?
Feel love collasping in quiet despair
A moment in time, my heart relied on
Confiscated now by memories shared

And though the farthest hills are now between
The rising suns are silent and serene
