Yakusoku No Koibito

As I get down on my knees before you and present your ring
It signifies my life starting anew
Knowing that you would take it from me happily agreeing
Creating a new covenant that we both agree to keep
My special promise… To you…
From this day forward… My love…
Is to forever remain with you
From now through the remaining days of our life together
I will cherish every moment spent with you
I know hard times will plague us but I still retain my faith
I believe my vow to you will remain just the same as
When we said… “I do…”
“And forever I’ll always… Love you…”
That vow will never change

When you smile you bring out the pureness inside of me
And when you cry, your tears is like a beautiful waterfall
Through your happiness and pain I’ll still remain here with you
And soon enough my promise to you… Will be complete…

And I know that the final part of my promise may seem…
Rather hard…
But you are strong and I believe that you will help me…
Fulfill it…

I know that there are many doubts that at times plague my mind
But I know that you will always remove such things
I also know that I will feel too powerless to do anything
However, I know that if I believe in you I will
Make it through… somehow
And I’ll smile once… again…
All because of what you do
The second half of my promise may seem a little hard
And also it may seem long if unlucky
I won’t be leaving you permanently, for I’ll be waiting
Waiting for you to join me soon in the afterlife
Because I can’t… Go on…
Not with you… Beside me…
My life without you is meaningless

Always know that after I leave you temporarily
That at my gravestone I sit there looking at my watch
When you are alone with the children, I’ll be there
Watching over all of you and making sure you’re safe

Always know that my spirit will never fade as long
As you believe…
So don’t let your happiness fade throughout your life
For I promise you… I’m waiting for you!

When you smile you bring out the pureness inside of me
And when I look at our children, I see it in them too
