Love Poem: Worthy of Cost

Worthy of Cost

Love's silent sad tears remain where they fall
To burn in molten ashes scattered in the heart
Flames to dance in stark darkness, reminders all
Consent shimmering flickers in the soul set apart

They weigh heavy on a heart when gathered inside
A bounty so deep with a desire to stay
Whirling mists filled with salt, the heart tries to hide
Memories of love's failure won't fade away

The death of love on its journey, left traveling alone
Wanton needs left bleeding from wounds applied
Wander through dark on a road pained to the bone
The entrance of loneliness has finally arrived

Whether passion was spent, worthy of cost
Or foolishness abounds fraught from deceit
Emotion unveiled will always be lost
Tears fall silent when they accept defeat
