Love Poem: Without Regret

Without Regret

If only I had seen you there and felt you by my side
Through the anguish and despair, heard you weeping as I cried.
Suppose if I had known that all was in your hands
I never would have grown and worked against your plans.
While stumbling through the desert I forgot about the rain,
Still you took the loss and hurt and used it for my gain.
You forge my strength in weakness and I’m sharpened by your word
You walk with me in sickness, grant me love I don’t deserve.
Set my feet on spacious ground, kept the enemy at bay
In you, oh Lord, true love Iove I’ve found, I rejoice and praise your name.
I know this war’s not over, lions stalking at the gate
I will keep marching forward, trusting Jesus with my fate.
I put down the ways of man, count me among your forces.
Lift me up with your great hand so I can race with horses.
Storms will come, the sun will set, my sword may not grow cold
Let me die without regret that I value more than gold.
In this world your will be done, I marvel at your glory.
In the end we will be one and that will be our story.
