Love Poem: Without a Moment's Notice

Without a Moment's Notice

Without a Moment's Notice

Thirst was writhing within.
Muscles were cramped beyond strengthening.
Gurgling of the last drop down the drain
Resounded again and again.
Be still, my mind, this drought is not forever.
The flood was turned off in an instant.
Without a moment’s notice –

Dryness parched my last hope.
Angry eyes increasingly twitched.
Recollections became clogged with sap.
Booming lost mental reigns cried.
Quiet, remaining tears seeking forever.
Hope gasped, submerged the next second.
Suffering, needing love’s liquor –

And then, you entered the room.
Statuesquely standing, exuding strength,
Rippling since the first smile, life restrained.
Receiving fresh moisture, thoughts sighed.
Trusting without reason, dreams flourished near.
You, my uplifting, with love’s deluge, quenched me.
Without a moment’s notice –
