Within the Fog

Within the Fog

Within the fog the distant mountains strain
Bruised in shades of lavender and forest green,
each angle decomposing in the rain
Silent blue-gray rocks revealed in sheen.

Bruised in shades of lavender and forest green
She questions paths which led her to a place;
Silent blue-gray rocks revealed in sheen.
She comes today with memories--his face.

She questions paths which led her to a place
Where dreams were made with promises to keep.
She comes today with memories--his face
With blue-green eyes, and love her her so deep.

Where dreams were made with promises to keep
She waits to see the ship of his return
With blue-green eyes, and love for her so deep.
She seeks for answers as her questions churn.

She waits to see the ship of his return
Each angle decomposing in the rain.
She seeks for answers as her questions churn.
Within the fog the distant mountains strain.
