With a Voice Rising Stronger Than Love
Many decades ago, equality
didn't exist in the United States of America, then
one voice rose stronger than love
and somehow it was heard by all;
didn't he firmly stand up for: unity,
fairness, dignity and justice to defy Uncle Ben?
He believed in the universal dream
that people were equal and free,
and he bravely stood against
evil as David stood against Goliath;
and this kind, godly man had
a vision that ordinary men didn't have!
We wrongly judge persons
for their their skin color and looks,
not character, and in doing so we can
never discover what they are alike inside;
and as he fought, they also fight
with a voice rising stronger than love!
