Love Poem: With a Typical Language

With a Typical Language

Vocabulary
that’s all which comes to me
painful conundrum so carefully written
could I say
I say so many things
place upon a kiss
a page of eternity
but awkward things are not who I seek
such inadequate verbs
punctuation to piece together
the ecstasy of nerves

Would I formulate
the essence of precipitous cloud
and within the gratitude of rain
deliver my soul
keeping deliverance unmentioned
I would
and find the other sufferance
if I could

Flip through the dictionary

Rain does not describe
the attribute of falling
nor perfume explain the intoxicating
in such a task my faculty of describing
the indefinable, it
remains tragically, limp

Gilded shards lay emotion to impromptu
some idiotic, despotic obsession
of you
fails me
and it grieves me
pathetic
I balance a moth
tightrope on a flame

There just ‘ain't no common tongue
R.I.P poetry
for all the BLAH BLAH BLAH
some stompin’ anthems screaming guitar
stuff it in a ballpoint
how do you etch
the plectrum of the heart

With some other language
where do I start
scribbled ineptitude
all flamboyance
would merely read crude
and curse the quill
curse my tongue
this keyboard is just so completely dumb

ps
I love you
