Wish Somebody Would Have Told Me

WISH SOMEBODY WOULD HAVE TOLD ME

Nobody told me it would be like this;
This thing called love the poets write about.
I thought we’d always share a life of bliss
‘Til death us part; I never had a doubt.
It seemed so easy, watching Mum and Dad,
Sweethearts at school and sweethearts evermore.
How could we ever let things turn so bad
That we’ve forgotten how things were before?
We always used to talk when things went wrong
And never let the sun set on our rage.
We haven’t really talked for far too long.
Perhaps it’s time to turn another page
        So sit with me and talk throughout the night
        We can’t throw this away without a fight
