Wise Woman
Soothsayer, reader of the stars, tell me:
do you see the woman of my dreams there?
A princess, no doubt, is what you will see,
or a fairytale nymph with golden hair.
But I'm not looking for fantasy lies;
nor Angelic beings made of starlight.
Find me someone like me, someone who cries;
loves long walks on the beach and candlelight.
Wise woman, gaze into your crystal ball:
surely, she can't stay hidden from your view.
And should you spot the fairest of them all:
she'll never be as beautiful as you.
Soothsayer, peer into my heart and soul:
and you'll see, only you can make me whole.
