Love Poem: Winter Rose

Winter Rose

The cold is coming on
the wind is moaning high above
the frozen days are long,
let's build a fire, my love

When winter's gone
will you still keep me warm?
When dark skies clear,
will you leave with the storm?

Outside, our noses freeze
a chill comes whistling through
in drifts up to our knees,
hot when I look at you

When winter's gone,
will you still linger on?
As spring arrives then
where will you be found?

The snow floats gently down
each white lace flake unique
There's no one else around
and we've no need to speak

The sky holds icy stars
that gleam against the crystal blue
the city lights are far
and I'm closer to you

When winter's gone,
will memories stay long?
When icy streams thaw,
will I be alone?
