Will You Remember

Scattered thoughts swallow my mind
Confusion's just so hard to tame
I'm staring blankly out at nothing
Since nothing's all that has remained
Emptiness has filled itself
With all the faded memories
Traces of some fleeting moments
That bring me to my knees
Echoes of your smile
Still linger in my heart
And I can't help but wonder
How we ever fell apart

Will you remember me
Did I leave you anything to last
Will you ever think of me
Or is it better I'm your past

If words were roads, then
I'd have only ever traveled one
Because I just can't get over
How quickly we were done
And this path keeps getting longer
Or I'm just walking slow
Retracing everything I've said
Wondering if you'll ever know
My heart's become your hostage
But there's no ransom to be made
You don't even know its all still yours
I guess that message never stayed

Will you remember me
Was there anything worth saving
Will you ever think of me
Or is there nothing left remaining
Do you ever close your eyes
And remember how we laughed
Do you ever lay awake at night
And wish I wasn't just the past

Scattered thoughts swallow my mind
Confusion's just so hard to tame
A faded memory of who I was
Is how I hide the pain
Everything I ever wanted
Fate has sealed in my past
My only wish is that you know
My love for you will always last

But, will you remember me
Will you remember how we were
Will you ever think of me
Will you ever wish that we had more
Will you remember me
The way that I remember you
And how I wish I had just one more chance
To tell you how deeply I love you
