Why What Now
when i was younger
i was in much a hurry
to pair up and fill the void
to find a mate and start a family
it didn’t happen but
that’s another story
and soon time passed
and it would never be
life went on and i had faith
one day eventually
i would get lucky and find true love
a soulmate to complete me
i found him or he found me
i knew nothing could compare
till one day he was summoned
and called to heaven
our days were numbered
then i was alone again
but he had been generous
and filled my heart with love
so now it’s come to this
nearing the sunset of my journey
once you’ve had true love
what’s left i ask
