Why Should I Believe In God

"Why should I believe in God?"
was what I had said.
"Whoever believes in him is
"crazy in the head."

This "religous stuff" was too much
for me to receive.
This "God thing" was something
"I'd never believe."

Until one day... there was
"a bump on the road."
Life came "crashing down" on me
like a heavy load.

My house and family were all gone in one moment.
I was looking for answers and
some kind of atonement.

I blamed God for everything I had lost.
And then found in my dresser,
 an old wooden cross.

I complained to God, cursed and grumbled.
I wanted to crush this cross
 into a pile of rubble.

Becoming so angry, I could almost
 feel the heat within.
I knew that it was I who had sinned.

I knew this anger in me did not belong.
How could I blame God for
all that was wrong?

I found a bible... read John 3:16 and cried.
It was for me... that Jesus
came and died!

Why couldn't I agree on this before?
I can't blame God for anything anymore!

I asked Jesus to remove all sin and pride.
I'm now on the "winning side."

For years.. an empty life I had spent.
Is now filled with joy, peace and content.

This choice I made... I'm glad I did!
He has given me a reason to hope and live!
