Why Do You Weep

Why do you weep oh gentle One?
Why do you cry out when alone?
Even more, why are you silent when you go out?
Do your troubles embarrass you and run others away?

Would it make others uncomfortable to hear what you say?
Would your plight run those away who do not seem to care?
Do you truly feel alone this and every day?
Do you fear what more, next will come your way?

Know I am here… Though we will never meet.
Know my troubles are also great.
Know I too, cry only when alone.
Know I am just like you, my friend.

I know that others soothing words do not take away the pain.
I know that talk of God does not make the problems go away.
I know this dreadful journey never seems to stop.
But I know you are not alone and can still talk to God.

Hope does not pay the bills or bring back those we lost.
Hope does not cure all ills or bring the dawn.
But sometimes Hope and God, is all we have when others fail…
And me of course, for you were never alone.

After you have sat there and silently wept…
Go forth into this day, knowing that in this world….
There are always others like you and me.
Hope and God are there somewhere, too. No one is truly alone…

Take heart when you are done weeping and know:
You are not alone: for I am also here with you.
We all have afflictions and problems, usually several at a time.
My greatest affliction is epilepsy among others that abound.
Remember life is an epic to be over come and still:
I am here for you.
