Love Poem: Who Knows the Son?

Who Knows the Son?

Question not the heart who bleeds,
The one who survives the wars who deceive,
Like the quiet smile, blessed by eyes
Who glisten with joy, inspiration and wonder,
Laughing at the dark and stirring the dreams
Beyond dark’s shadows,
Where gentleness breathes, exasperated
By the night who beckons – tempting
Hearts to remember only the sorrow and grief,
Feelings leading a soul to defeat

Enduring the desperation of dusk,
Beaten down by the worries, the fears and lusts,
Expressions of a life who has been overcome
By the revelations of despair, discord
All the misfortunes that come to the lives
Who are not lived, but merely survived

Itching ears only hear the apprehension,
Prayed by the soul who is left without recompense
For the light that falls by the wayside,
Always inspiring, stirring hearts to abide
In the dream, the soothing, the embrace of hope
Who comes from knowing that, despite the dark,
There is a second chance, a simplicity, a habit
Found by the soul who believes, the heart who agrees…

In life, despite all the heartbreak and longing,
There is the moment when there comes a knowing
That only love, love from above, can give the soul
What it needs, the beauty and the faith,
The serenity and grace – all the love that comes to those
Who simply know that God is the One who knows
Without love, there is no life, no hope, no finding the way
Through the sorrow and pain – without delay,
It is the love of His Son who makes the way seem reachable,
Makes the prayer seems answerable,
Makes the world seem like it has a chance…

Without His love, there is no way
But, with Him beside me – I know love will abide
And the joy inside me, that will keep me alive
Inspired by the light who shines on my soul,
The light of a love far brighter than any sun,
The light that comes to life because there is the SON,
The only SON who makes a way for everyone!
