Love Poem: White Smoke

White Smoke

I remember that day so clear
the white smoke lofting through the air
fumes from your past
caught up to you at last
for all your sins you couldn't out run
slower than a gun
no mess to clean up
for the mess was contained in your cold black heart
you placed your disappointments on all those around you
you walked in a shade of red your favorite hue
your verbal assualts locked an entire family in fear
and left a nine year old between a scream and a tear
all your faults where placed on my shoulders
all your dreams you were to lazy to fufill
became my nightmares
of all the things you did you did them all wrong
but one thing you finally did right
you cleansed yourself to purity
surrounded by the white smoke
you chose to induce your own death
and with that said I can finally rest in piece
now that your gone
I remember you how I want as a loving wife and mother
than to live with the reality that you failed me
and our child
your days of tyranny are over your days of wild
are but nipped in bud
resonating with a long thud
as you finally met your fate.
