Love Poem: Where Happiness Lies

Where Happiness Lies

They sleep there still, I watch and smile
Their beauty’s a gift, I cannot deny
Energized by their love, my life’s worth while
These two blond angels have caught my eyes

When quiet at night, their whispers are powers
Their laughter, it floats on winsome breeze
My daughters, though devils in daylight hours,
Bring smiles to my nights, so well, to please

God, thank you so much for my loving wife
Who bore me sweet children, such as these

Devils I say, my sons are as well
Energy, they have until the middle of night
Loud they can be like ringing church bells
That they make me get up and shut off their lights

But, as I retire and go back to bed
I smile and laugh so, because of their tease
The visions of them now so deep in my head
Has brought me again, by the bed on my knees

God, thank you so much for my loving wife
Who bore me sweet children, such as these
