Love Poem: Where Do We Start?

Where Do We Start?

We have gone from tube radios to transistors to microchips in such a short span,
We have gone from good morals to sleaze with no restrictions and no imposed bans.
The word NO has no strength like it did so long ago,
It’s just an idle threat that now means do what you want just don’t let me know!

Discipline should be returned to teachers as well as to the parents who raise that child,
Children need to learn respect for others so they don’t grow up mean and wild.
I heard a child say the other day that he was a cutter, a what I said!
And he showed me all the scars and replied just wanted to know what it felt like being dead.

People we need to pray for these young people who really are lost,
They need love and attention and are willing to pay the ultimate cost.
I think they ought to outlaw body piercing as well, it’s just another form of crying out,
Look at me is what they are saying, I’m just so lost and full of doubt.

Next time you see a child like this, try and understand they need a friend,
They have grown up in a society that seems to be reaching its very end.
We have allowed babies to have babies and they’re too young to know how to really care,
And we are seeing the results of a society with no love to share.

We all need discipline and order in our lives to keep us on the straight and narrow path,
Because one day we will all answer to God and I personally don’t wish to feel His mighty wrath.
And it is up to us to extend our heart and to share Gods ever present love,
And to know how important it is that we can be forgiven and reap all the amenities from up above.
