Love Poem: When You Went Away

When You Went Away

I would have made it known to you
That you hurt me bad when you went away
I would have been there for you
In each and every day
But you said you had decided for good
Not giving me a chance a word to say.

Its not only the words you said
Which smashed the receptacle of my heart
But also the silence I got to know
During the times you were gone
Each time remembered I receive like a dart
Where the heart is the target.

For a time I wished
Time would heal this hurting wound
With natures flowers and butterflies
All around me
Revealing comforting beauty
To distract disturbing thoughts of you.

But the eye in the sky
Kept watch as I suffered in my torment
And the wind would keep silence
All through my tearing time
That would add waters to the running rivers
During my lonely days

I felt I had lost it all
Cares and everything
But I did show it many a times
Your wishes and dreams
Far away beyond mine
You found the arms of another man.
