When you walked away that day
You told me that you loved me
More then you have ever
loved anybody
And you promised me
That you would never hurt me
And nearly two years have gone by
Since that day when you went away
And I just haven’t been able to get
close to anybody
And I haven’t even tried
Because of all the heart
ache
that I have endured
And I just want you to
know
that I have forgiven you
And I just hope and pray
That the good Lord will watch over you
Forever and a day and throughout eternity
And hopefully the good Lord will help me
So that I will be able to heal from all
of this some day
