When the Hero Met His Love

Before the sky fell away there was once a happier day. Before rhyme and reason were to fail, there was a spent old man waiting to tell his tale. if you listened well you heard him tell how he came from heaven and fell to hell. he was searching for the one he said, the one he had failed and now was dead. over the angry sea and under stone this old man had traveled alone. he went away from his home and came beneath this crumbled dome. there he sat down with the Devil and engaged in spoken battle, how the earth shook and the pillars did rattle. the game spent the Hero went deeper into the dark, but the Devil be wise and tells many lies all which had left their mark. the Hero came finally to the end where he met his long lost friend. here they were still alone as she lay there nothing but bone. he fell to his knees but god could not here his pleas, as the Devil would surely agree. hell is loneliness, complete and utterly. the Hero sat and buried His Love there beneath the stone. The Devil let him pass on by for this reason why. "He's still with me and shall forever be completely and utterly alone."
