When Our Songs Play

When I’m not with you, I play our songs on repeat, a loop of love if you will.
I play these songs because I can feel you through each lyric, even if you’re not really here.
As if your being is poured out through my little phone speaker, to comfort me.
It’s there, when Isaiah Rashad sings Wat U Sed, takes me back to Wat U Sed Monday morning as you left for work: I love you.
Watch when kaytranada sings taste, I can begin to taste the sweet caress of our lips.
See then, how Doechii sings stressed, I can feel you stripping me of that days pains.
But notice, when don toliver sings Drugs and hella Melodie’s, it’s like an instant euphoria.
Because the last time we listened to this song, I was high in your arms, floating through the melody of your voice as you say: “I love you”
Each replay, is not just another song playing, but a replay of our love. So I replay these songs at least 6 times a day, because I get to love you 6 more times every day.
