Love Poem: When Madness Comes

When Madness Comes

This madness you bestowed upon me
where night becomes day and day night
between setting suns and silver moonlight
where you used your love to find comfort with fervor
to keep your cold heart warm
when you tightly held my wanton desires
in your spider's web
woven by your fiery inviting eyes of sensuality
that pierced my soul
and gave birth to all my passions
leaving me a dry empty husk of withering decay
seeking death
as death will be my pardon
to free me from your tangled webs and lies

Could that my heart dispel all such things
as I wait for the final outcome
where the skeletal Charon appears
to carry my heart down the river Styx
screaming as it disappears in the fog of betrayal
that surrounds the faintest breath from love lingering
in my heart's memory as it boards Charon's boat
to leave my soul on the empty banks of this river
alone with all my illusions
as it's ferried to its death from your deception
