When Love Slips Away
It's hard to prepare; life can happen to you;
All the warnings aside, it's shock waves make you blue!
Should your mom have a stroke; if your mate finds new love;
There is no exact match for a discarded glove.
Perhaps God has good reasons; lost lovers might too;
You so sure that they're even related to you?
But in Blessing Both still AND the Path that they're on,
Individual bliss can escape Babylon.
When the earth was God's dream, loved too after the flood,
He still loves you although you feel shamed by Christ's blood,
Feel your worth in God's love and let it be enough,
For He's always beside you; for sure when life's tough.
Look for love in His shade, not to stray from His side,
And see love as a gift, one not earned by one's pride,
Let the love that you give, not be somebody's slave,
And the love that you get will be love that you crave.
