Love Poem: When Love Is Over

When Love Is Over

Love has slowly faded
and days have turned to gray
we invite such a sorrow
there's no reason left to stay

Two sparrows seeking refuge
from the storms we create
on the breath of spoken words
we have finally met our fate

   Every reason has turned quiet
     our eyes are always blurred

The last kiss has been forgotten
and the fervor quickly gone
lovers for our time begotten
become memories to look upon

We lived our last days in silence
they were measured and were weighed
a distance grew between us
before we turned away

   Every reason has turned quiet
     our eyes are always blurred

The last kiss has been forgotten
no pictures left to glean
angry voices cut the night
words are heard...not seen

The days of cold were deeply felt
when we built an empty well
that filled and flooded over
by the rains that came and fell

The last kiss has been forgotten
it was so long ago
we took the path of no tomorrow
when we blew out...the candle's glow
