When Looking Back
When looking back, I am warmly amazed
how selflessly she endlessly loved me.
She saved all self-worth not lost at Dad’s knee
with nurturing her mother’s heart sought glazed.
She loved me thru years of diapers and dolls ~
when wee and witchy, she love-turned me calm.
I recall how youth randomly launched qualms ~
how her love derailed my teenage phased sprawls.
Now, time’s final phase has force-steered our roles
towards a destination sadness gained.
My ingrained heart perspectives are now strained
from twisting acceptance hits to our souls.
When heaven posed, may she look back amazed
how tenderly, as her care devotee,
I best shored her worth from age debris
with nurturing my daughter's heart sought glazed.
