Love Poem: When I Write

When I Write

When I write I feel I’m writing for the Lord
Which leaves me with a great sense of responsibility
For my words be it in poetry, comments or otherwise
Must always reflect his love and compassion
I never think of how many souls I may help lead to Christ
For I am no leader of men, I am but a servant
A servant who uses his own life as an example
To try and help others understand the true joys of salvation
And how it’s never too late to live for the Lord
For his love and compassion is greater than I can imagine
When it comes to sin I have tasted them all
All of them left me very bitter and empty, cold and alone
Even though I’ll never understand why, the Lord forgave me
Then he gave me a gift and set me free unto the world
Never to be bound in the darkness of my own sin again
If my gift helps save a thousand souls yet loses one
I have failed to use it correctly; I will have lost my way
So once again I ask of you dear Lord to come unto me
Guide my words so I may not turn anyone away
Let my words be a beacon of your love
Keep them forever humble
For the only thing I truly know
Without you I am nothing
