When I Met Mary Jane

When it comes to being anxious I know I'm not alone.
Heart beat speed increases, as time starts to slow.
Sweat collects on your forehead, then drips off the nose.
Palms are slippery when wet, while regret rapidly grows.

This particular moment significantly altered my life,
my reality met fantasy the first time I got high.
Dinner's at five, the weed bloodshot my eyes,
my parents heard every excuse I've ran out of lies.

"Why the hell are you late!" my dad immediately screamed.
"I fell off my bike and scraped half my knee".
"You are completely red and you smell just like weed."
"I just went swimming at my friends, the pool had to much chlorine"

At this point m heart stopped I could barely even breathe.
Unable to escape my mistake I was grounded from a week.
