When I Love Myself

I must confess

I love to watch myself dance in the mirror
The curves melt into the shadows
In the mood Talib Kweli’s Eardrum piercing
Glen Miller big band trumpets,
Bangles jingling against my satin smooth velvet
Golden skin That I love
Sultry saxophone stipulations
Coltrane caprices and
Sinatra seduction
Billy Holiday, hip-hop Beyonce
Beating against the beautiful bittersweet cold of pulse
Outside my window

I love how my walk steams success in every step
Sundays seem so upset, when I stir up the afternoon
My ambition resonates
With a swim deep into his eyes
and I build up buttercups
Temptations, A touch of spice, and a hint of desire at the wrist

I love it
When I catch my laughter bubbling in my throat
And throw it to the wind to let any lucky fellow
Hear it and engrave itself into his heart
Stardust in my eyes and
My very own blockbuster smile on my lips

I love how the sunshine seems to follow me
Enveloping the sing sweet sorrow story of my life
Sealing it away but letting the confectionary agony remind me
Of my most darkest days
Rainy days fade away when

I love . Myself .
