When Her Own Payment Came Due

When Her Own Payment Came Due

Came torturing moment that she just knew
he could never be her eternal love
No old age, everlasting for the two
their love would die, no reprieve from above
Yet his touch scorched her into frenzy
days were spent fighting loss's sad arrival
His kiss sent her world into a tizzy
afterwards she'd fight for her survival
Finding Fate hard, seeing future regrets
nights now spent enjoying lover's touch
Present time was just as good as it gets
for burning love seared her far, far too much

Dawn broke, came that sad moment she just knew
Years flown by, now her own payment came due

Old Note- Some earthly loves are only destroyed by death..
If one ever finds such and lives it they should consider it a great blessing despite the sad end.(1978)

New Note- Has now been found, now awaiting the end......
fleeting time it may or may not be but life has never had
any guarantees. (2016)
