What You Do To Me

So frightened of what lies ahead
You're my firelight, shining in my feline eyes
You light the road for me to tread
You're my candlelight, refining the truth from the abominable lies
You burn away my wretched mistakes I've made
The neverending pile of debt and regret you've paid
What you do to me
Makes me happy in every single way, you see? I hope I can make you believe in me, baby...

What you do to me makes me cry so bittersweetly
What you do to me makes me laugh wholeheartedly
What you do to me hurts my feelings and you have no clue
What you do to me and what you put me through...
Because of what you've done to me,
I've been a fool by your side, can't break free
Trusting you is like telling me to fly without wings of flight
Stop telling me I'm weak and worthless...you were my delight of light, but now you're the contrite night

Not everything is black and white,
You are a million shades of gray
I treasured you like my favorite kite
Keep me warm inside...not frozen in any way
Tomorrow brought me out of the dark
Of yesterday's chambers...you're my childhood park
What you do to me
Makes me feel comforted, leaving no room for dismay and vanity
You made me wait on you and you expect me to be patient, hun
I'm irritated because you won't pick me up...I've been in the sweltering sun

What you do to me makes me cry so bittersweetly
What you do to me makes me laugh wholeheartedly
What you do to me hurts my feelings and you have no clue
What you do to me and what you put me through...
Because of what you've done to me,
I've been a fool by your side, can't break free
Trusting you is like telling me to fly without wings of flight
Stop telling me I'm weak and worthless...you were my delight of light, but now you're the contrite night

You're nowhere to be found
Lost in the crowd of commotion and motion
You're somewhere in the ground
I have devotion towards you, mixed with emotion
I can take care of myself thank you very much
But you deal with my burdens, pains and such
What you do to me
Is my cup of iced coffee...you are my one and only forever and ever, amen...you set me free from captivity's chaotic reverie
This can't be happening to me...I will wake up from this dream I'm in
This can't be replaying in my head...the dread you've put me through through thick and thin
Where have you been?
Where have you been?
In despair...unprepared...
I'm the hare and you're the turtle, beating me to the finish line
Without a care, so scared...
I'm the ocean and you're the sky, I'm rainy weeping and you're doing sunny fine

What you do to me makes me cry so bittersweetly
What you do to me makes me laugh wholeheartedly
What you do to me hurts my feelings and you have no clue
What you do to me and what you put me through...
Because of what you've done to me,
I've been a fool by your side, can't break free
Trusting you is like telling me to fly without wings of flight
Stop telling me I'm weak and worthless...you were my delight of light, but now you're the contrite night

I'm like a switch, you can turn me on or off
I'm like a b^#*^, you can piss me off or I can play rough and tough
Swinging to and fro on the swings of my mood
You're perfect head to toe and you should know that I'll be good...I'll be good
Just for you, I'll be good in the hood
Just like I should...I was bad to the bone,
But now I'm all good, facing the fact that I'm on my own, but not alone
All along, you have gone away like a temporary song
I was wrong, you were right from the start...I should've held my tongue
But it's what you do to me
It's what you do to me
You get enraged like King Kong...don't hurt me my dear
You fight my battles for me - how can I thank you enough? I grant you good luck!
You get disappointed in me when I do something wrong...that's what I fear
With your might, my problems flee from me -I'm independent and I can carry a large load like a sturdy truck
What you do to me
I don't know why you serve me smiles when deserve frowns due to my downfalls...all of this is an optimistic obscurity
