What Love Is
To gently bow down in humility asking for forgiveness,
and casting pride aside for just one more chance-
Believing that deep love is full of trust and worthiness,
is what defines a lover’s true complete romance.
A simple kiss on my cheek as we walk by the shore,
engulfing me as does the tide in the beach sands-
Showing more compassion to me than ever before,
is what brings possibilities love may not understand.
Gentle caresses on my face just above my left brow,
tender embraces under the sheets, a fury does ignite-
Butterfly kisses on my cheek and yet I wonder how
does a lover’s passion make the worst times seem right?
Ecstasy ablaze with intimate emotions engaged,
oh, the nights are too short and the days are too long-
Sure at times the tempest may storm and rage,
but true love can be expressed in a melodious song.
I was once asked, “what is the true meaning of love?
Is it a natural instinct or can it be felt through words?”
The truth is I think true love starts from up above,
and is gifted below when we feel lost and unheard.
Love is you and love is me and together we are us-
Love is true and I agree we’ve built this tree on trust.
