WHAT IS LOVE
I really don’t understand hate…
except that it makes me confused and sad and flustered
So this week I’ve decided to leave the hate behind
and bring back some poems filled with joy and love…
Because I don’t know about you
but I can use all joy and love I can muster…
WHAT IS LOVE
Another beautiful day ended…with another fairy tale read
when her daughter asked, “Mommy…what is love?”
as her mother tucked her into bed.
Her mother leaned in close…smiled…
searching for the right words inside her brain…
Then she held her daughter’s hand and said,
“Love…is not so easy to explain.”
“Love is everywhere.” She said, “It glides upon the wind…it floats upon the sea.
It’s in every creature great or small…it’s in you…and it’s in me.”
“Love begins somewhere within our soul…it is the music of our heart.
It can be felt between two people…when their together…or apart.”
"Love when you are young is different than the love when you are grown.
Love is caring about someone else’s happiness
more than you care about your own.”
“Love is beautiful, compassionate, forgiving, wonderful and kind.
Love can only blossom when two lives are intertwined.”
“Love is just as wonderful when it’s old…as it was when it was new.
I believe, when it comes to love…it’s what we are born to do.”
When she thought she’d said enough…when her rambling was through…
she smiled at her daughter and asked, “By the way…what is love to you?”
Her daughter’s face lit up and with a child’s innocence she proclaimed…
“I think love is what makes me smile every time I say your name.”
What is love? was the question her daughter asked at the end of a beautiful day…
And the next time someone asks her…
she know exactly what she’s going to say.
