What If It Were You?

The Earth begins to rumble.
Our troops are marching on.
A city about to tumble.
the innocence are gone.

 So many lives are shattered.
Little ones are lost.
Still they say move on,
at their deadly cost.

 The bombs are dropping daily.
there are bodies everywhere.
People scream for help,
wishing someone care.

 Not knowing who to trust,
and nowhere left to turn.
Survival for the night,
becomes their main concern.

 Years have gone by.
Yet things are still the same.
Now you stop to ask yourself,
for who are we to blame?

 Our goverment will say,
" They have done their best ".
Well tell that to the mother,
that laid her son at rest.

Or how about the children,
that live on U.S. soil?
How do you explain to them,
their mother died for oil?

 What if it were you,
that lost your loving wife?
How would you seek closure,
to a tear filled life?

How would you yourself,
deal with all the pain?
Better yet to ask you.
What have you truly gained?
