Love Poem: What If
Barry Freeman Avatar
Written by: Barry Freeman

What If

I wish I were the drops of water
Emanating from your shower
Caressing you with soft warm kisses
In the morning hour.

I wish I were the gentle breeze
Brushing soft against your face
Running my fingers through your hair
Through the summer days

I wish I were the solid earth
Supporting every step you tread
Then holding you in my embrace
When these mortal clothes we’ve shed.

But our lives are full of wishes
For what could have or what will
And what if it had been different
Would we be wondering ‘what if’ still?
