Love Poem: Weighted Ground

Weighted Ground

I stand here lonely on this weighted ground
The wind never able to knock me around
For I'm in love so deep it's to him I'm forever bound
That very love is one with which I always cause myself to drown
I pick myself up but the force just again pulls me back down
I'm lost many times waiting by him to be once again found
Left here feeling foolish and looking to everyone like a clown
And I hate getting stuck in that crowd
I try not to hear but their voices are so deafingly loud
Don't keep letting your heart break, to yourself that you can't allow
All these emotions whirling my mind is it any wonder I'm not in heaven up above the clouds
I think that one can agree with all this and more upon my shoulders it's easy to surmise to
why I'm standing on this weighted ground
All these things keep me grounded here spinning so that the strong wind can never knock me
around
It's the weight of all words said or never heard, all the emotions felt deep and the ones that
just won't detour that keeps me inside tied up and wound
I long for the time to arrive when all the weight from me is lifted and the voices to be quiet,
silenced then forever so to which they will never again make any lonely heart wrenching
sounds
