Love Poem: Weight of Sin

Weight of Sin

Heavy as sin,
Trusting nothing, no one,
Never more than a distant fog,
Secreting the promises,
Fading into the yesterdays,
Stirring stars, shimmering
Resting on the night, breathless
As daybreak and just as busy,
Trembling with feelings,
Intimate and gracious, like a prayer…

Thick words, nouns and verbs,
Imagining a poem – a verse,
A vision of yesterday’s wishes
A beauty that can’t be envisioned
A whisper to the spirit, so intimate
Poetry in the soul, weaving warmth,
Coloring hope…

Dense as the forest, trees
Alive like a silence – bubbling up…
In gentle streams, careless leaves
Dancing through the moments,
Hastening to fill the silence with a gentle
That never leaves the woodsy warmth,
Timber trails and details,
Shadows falling on the moments,
Healing, listening, penning …
Portraits of penance, remembering…

Sickening breathes of dread,
Deathlike grief, growing in the quiet
Risking the night, burning
Glowing like starlight, echoing
Through the melancholy,
Touching hearts with flames
Feelings focused on forever…

Destined to dream,
Hardened hearts appeal to grace,
Will there ever be the chance…
To grieve, to simply grieve,
To be – just be… am I deceived by the darkness,
Cheated by the lost years,
Betrayed by the knowing that comes…
To those who hear the voice of the trees,
The singing of the wind, the dance
In the leaves, expressing their gentleness…
With graceful tears, dew – caressing
Kissing away the moonlight and inviting
Sun’s crisp, new light…

Alive, like the senses, a poem
Promises to portray the promises,
The aching, the inspirations
Awakening the spirit, cooling the fears,
Calming every angry tear, all the colors
Of light reflected in the life…
Abiding in the heart who knows,
Just knows…

Love will win despite the weight of sin.
Yes, love will forgive and forgive and forgive,
Again and again… saving, this plan…
From the One who made a way through the pain,
The One who gave sinners a second chance,
The One who stirs up the light of day,
The One who abides in the soul who believes…
He is the answer to sin’s heavy descent.
He is the answer to all the faith we can claim.
He is risen and sin isn’t given the upper hand.
Finally, because of Him, we’re absolved from our failures.
We can reach beyond this life, into an eternity without strife!

Thank God for His light… His endless love
The promise of forever in His presence,
Where we will always know joy and peace,
The wonder of life that never ends, life…
That has not even one sin – life eternal!
