We Too Will Drift Away
We will soon find ourselves,
in a much different place.
We thought we were mountains,
that could never drift away.
We are more like the ice in the ocean,
that floats every which way.
Finding ourselves
drifting farther away.
As much as we say that we'll be close,
one day the truth will come.
We'll know after the time has passed
that memories will be all that's left.
Deep down in our hearts
we'll still know what we were,
but out on the surface
we'll have moved on.
