We Say Thank'Ee

She kindly gave us love and cookin’,
More than we was really lookin’.
Fed us up on pork and beans,
But dudn’t know jes’ what it means.

We wuz shor’ley really hurtin’,
When she came here nearly certain
That we’d need that ‘TCC’,
“Takin’ Care of, Certainly”.

Ma jest’ wasn’t on her toes,
Couldn’t take our whiny woes.
But Auntie came with all her speed,
And catered to our every need.

She warsh’d our clothes with greatest care,
So we’d be havin’ underwear.
Then cooked our supper every night,
So we’d be fed up fat and right.

So for all that, with best of wishes,
We say, “Thank’ee kindly missus!
For care’n for us in our spot,
We give our love with all we got.
