Love Poem: We Believe Love

We Believe Love

We believe Love when held in her embrace
When Love's arms envelop us
Surround us
And her heartbeat pounds heavy against our soul
But this is not truly Love.

Love is when she releases us
From her joyous light
Her bliss
Her certainty, her security.

We feel loved within Love's embrace
And upon release from that embrace
When she releases us to live life
The horrors, the agony of living
This is when we ARE loved.

Love's sweetest blessing is her embrace
But her truest is when she releases us to live.

When we despair from that release
When we grieve Love's loss
This is when we are most truly loved.
For while Hatred seeks to grab at us, to rob, a thief of painful passion,
And Jealousy seeks to enslave us through a shackled heart,

Only Love seeks our freedom.
Therefore, she releases us to Live.

Love's greatest joy
Our successful Living
Is borne within moments of misery
Our greatest loss.

Imagine the true tragedy of life
If you grieve so
Over a single beloved.
Your mother, or father,
Or sister, brother, or lover.
Released from Love's embrace
For days, weeks,
Yeah, even months and years,
We wail their loss.
One.
Loss.

But for the dying...
All at once they must give up their fathers, brothers, and lovers,
Husbands, wives, children and mothers.
They are allowed but a single breath to let go.
To show true Love and release all from embrace.
Most difficultly, to release themselves,
Their Dreams, Passions both joy and pain,
Of what was and might've been
To walk through a moment of ultimate misery
And thereby Love purely as Life's gift.
